Who we are

About USBDAF

We are a Deaf-led foundation working toward a future where every Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and late-deafened person has the access and opportunity to live a full, independent life.

Who We Are

Led by the community we serve

The U.S. Based Deaf Action Foundation (USBDAF) is a Deaf-led nonprofit organization committed to empowering Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and late-deafened individuals.

Being Deaf-led means our work is shaped by lived experience. We understand the barriers firsthand — and we know the strengths, culture, and potential of our community just as well.

Our Mission

To empower Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and late-deafened individuals through accessible education, workforce development, vocational training, leadership development, advocacy, and community support — reducing barriers and opening pathways to independence and opportunity.

Our Vision

We aspire to a world where Deaf individuals have equal access to opportunity, full inclusion, meaningful employment, and independent living — where being Deaf is never a barrier to reaching one's goals.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

Every Deaf story belongs here

Deaf people come from every culture, language, and walk of life. We are committed to supporting Deaf immigrants, Deaf communities of color, and individuals with diverse experiences — recognizing that each faces unique barriers and brings unique strengths.

Inclusion means listening, adapting, and making sure no one in our community is left behind.
